Out of the 20 commercial banks currently in operation, the average interest rate declined as 6 banks reduced their rates. Meanwhile, 14 commercial banks have maintained the same maximum interest rate on individual fixed deposits for the month of Falgun.
Similarly, banks have reduced the maximum average interest rate on institutional fixed deposits by 0.03 percentage points.
For the month of Chaitra, Nepal Bank Limited has reduced the interest rate the most. The bank has lowered the maximum interest rate on individual fixed deposits by 0.6 percentage points. Likewise, Standard Chartered Bank Nepal, Kumari Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Prime Commercial Bank, and Global IME Bank have also reduced their interest rates for Chaitra.
